Our comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training and certification qualifies students for the Pilates Method Alliance exam. We offer certification for all Pilates equipment including Mat, Reformer, Cadillac and Tower, Chair and Barrel. Timea Presley
Timea Presley, Master Instructor, Pilates Teacher Trainer
Timea Presley is a Pilates Teacher Trainer, Master Instructor and former professional dancer with over 24 years of experience teaching and managing Pilates programs in the United States, Europe and online. Timea specializes in Post-Rehabilitation Conditioning and Injuries and Special Populations. She teaches private clients, a comprehensive Teacher Training Program and various seminars in person and online.
During her tenure as a Washington Ballet Faculty member she was described as "a creative teacher, who provides a safe place to explore a side of Pilates that few understand."
Timea holds extensive certifications from STOTT Pilates, Polestar Pilates, Yoga in the Shivananda tradition, Barre Method and Spinning. Her STOTT Pilates certifications include all Pilates equipment at Advanced Level, Rehabilitation Conditioning Specialist, Injuries and Special Populations, and more. Her continuing education coursework has included Science of Balance, Fall Prevention, Hypermobility Master Class, Pilates Then and Now - Pilates History, Compassionate Inquiry, Pilates for Managing Osteoporosis and Scoliosis, Breast Cancer Rehab, Athletic Conditioning, Stabilization and Function of the Knee, Prenatal Pilates on Reformer, Cadillac and Stability Chair, Optimization of the Lumbopelvic Region, Optimization of the Shoulder Complex, Principles of Stabilization, Postural Analysis, The 5 Pilates Basic Principles Explained, Athletic Conditioning on Stability Cushions, Jumpboard Intervals, STOTT Pilates V2 Max Plus Programming, Reformer and the Padded Platform Extender, Diastasis Recti Management.
Timea's involvement in managing studios and Pilates programs started with founding and operating her own Pilates Studio in Berlin Germany in the early 2000s. After her move to the US in 2005, she continued her work in Washington DC as Pilates Program Director, Head Pilates Instructor, Washington School of Ballet Faculty Member, Mind Body Program Director and Yoga Studio Director. In addition she taught Pilates for organizations such as the Smithsonian, World Bank, IMF, Department of Justice and other government agencies.
Timea's professional movement career began as a Modern and Contemporary Dancer in Budapest, Hungary and Berlin, Germany, where she was first exposed to Pilates. Timea studied at the Budapest Contemporary Dance Academy, Dance Academie Balance 1 Berlin and Freie Universität Berlin.
Furthermore, Timea enjoys practicing Pilates, attending theater performances, eating a healthy vegetarian diet, taking long walks, bike rides, exploring books and lectures.
